DPS Jeddah is affiliated to the CBSE, a board that is universally recognized and accepted by institutions of higher learning throughout the world. However, the aim of the school is to incorporate and import fresh ideas and concepts in its curriculum in order to render it more flexible in approach and wider in its application and scope. Syllabus appropriate to each grade level is framed by teachers in such a way that it stresses application of knowledge and development of skills and trains the children to become independent thinkers. Structured in age-appropriate and grade level-appropriate format, lessons in Islamic Studies and Quran for the Muslim children, and Values Education for the non-Muslim children are built into the regular weekly schedule. Instruction in Art and Craft and a guided reading program in the Library are significant elements of the holistic approach that is part and parcel of the educational experience at Al Falah DPS. The functional philosophy of an international school set in a multi-cultural society, particularly with respect to its curriculum and learning environment, is molded and shaped by diverse considerations. Not only is such a school required to retain its own ideology and identity, it is also responsible for absorbing the essential features of the culture, history and geography of the host country. Al Falah DPS too is conscious of its responsibility in this context. The curriculum in the primary and the middle sections of the school is thus suitably adapted to include the study of the cultural heritage, historical background and geographical features of Saudi Arabia.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Physical education is a significant part of the curricular and co-curricular agenda at Al Falah DPS. The school plans to offer a wide-based, well-developed and multi-pronged programme of Physical Education to its students, integrated into the schedule in such a way that refinement of individual sports prowess, team games, inter-house and inter-school events are given their due weightage in an age-appropriate, structured format. A massive infrastructural base in terms of open space and built-up area including a well-designed Multi-purpose Hall for Athletics has already been commissioned enabling students to participate in popular games like football, lawn tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball, table tennis and cricket. This intricate network of facilities for imparting a sound physical education and training in numerous games, sports and athletic events will be progressively refined in the coming years with the help of professional expertise
THE PRE-PRIMARY WING, AN EXTENDED HOME (PRE-NURSERY, NURSERY AND PREP CLASSES)
Nursery education is instrumental in shaping the child's personality. This is the child's first exposure to a world beyond his family and home. Thus, the pre-primary wing of Al Falah DPS offers the setting of an extended family to the tiny tots it caters to, combining it with the latest pedagogical techniques in terms of teaching methodology, resources and infrastructure. Through the play-way method the child develops social skills, verbal ability and delves into the "art and craft" realm refining his motor skills while giving play to his artistic outburst Curriculum.
THE PRIMARY AND MIDDLE SECTIONS (GRADE I - GRADE VIII)
The basic concepts, motor and sensorial skills introduced in the pre-primary classes are re-enforced and in fact, lay the groundwork and a firm foundation for future learning. The syllabus for the junior primary classes is framed by our team of teachers trained in early learning techniques in such a way that it gradually fans out to become more broad-based. The young learner at this stage is exposed to a wider range of learning material that takes a more definite shape and form by way of different subject areas: English, Mathematics, General Science and Social Studies including an introduction to Computer Studies. Equipped with the basic skills of learning, confident and creative thinking and with the rudiments of a wide range of subject areas, students find themselves set for entry to the Middle Section of the school, the launch pad for higher learning. Academics take on a more serious note, and additional stress is laid on inculcating responsible study habits and improvement of study skills. Projects and curriculum-related activities are widely used to make learning more interesting, and are closely woven into the schedule.
THE SECONDARY AND SENIOR SECONDARY SECTIONS (GRADE IX - GRADE XII)
The senior-most class at Al Falah in the academic session 2007-08 will be Grade X. Curriculum review and planning, based on CBSE directives and instructions, and regular academic co-ordination across the grade levels are undertaken to maintain the standard of academics at the international level of excellence.
CO-CURRICULAR AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The aim of the school to develop the self-confidence, self-esteem and the overall personality of students in all aspects lies at the core of the co-curricular and extra-curricular programme that is provided at Al Falah DPS. Organised schemes and specific plans are in the process of finalisation so that children may be exposed to the best possible blend of activities and pure academics. A wide range of activities geared to tapping and refining the artistic abilities and creativity of its pupils will be integrated into the curriculum e.g. drawing, painting, doll making etc. and participation in skits, dramas, in-house competitions in recitation, elocution, debates and quiz will ensure that meaningful learning takes place beyond the precincts of the classroom as well. Wherever possible, inter-school friendly, or competitive, events will be organised in order to widen their scope and extend the exposure of the children to such activities. Currently, special clubs catering to children's wider interests, e.g. chess, photography, martial arts etc. have been organised through the school and are already operational. All efforts will be made to extend the range of such facilities, within school hours or after school/on Thursdays, and to involve students in as many extra-curricular activities as possible. Educational tours and excursions, and field trips planned for enjoyment, are also crucial extra-curricular components of an inter-active approach to learning, and they will continue to find a prominent place on the school's calendar.
SCHEME OF ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION
A system of continuous academic assessment is followed at Al Falah DPS. The school year will be divided into two well-defined academic terms, and examinations will be held at the end of each term. Students will be evaluated for their academic performance in both terms independently for each subject. During a term, students' academic work will be evaluated on a continuous basis through class work, home assignments, tests, projects and on the basis of their participation in class. Assessment throughout the term will make up at least 50% of the total marks for that subject, and the term examination at the end of the term will carry the rest of the marks.
